WHAT'S IN THIS EPISODE?
In this episode you’re going to hear from a female entrepreneur that is a fifth generation family farmer. Amanda Jo Carey appeases my wild interest in living and working on a farm and answers all of my questions about what it’s really like (birthing calves, 17 hour days, and more). We also talk about one of the most profound lessons she’s learned that happened when she was a little kid trying to help her dad make spaghetti … and how it still applies to her everyday life.
We talk about…
WHO'S AMANDA JO CAREY?
Amanda is a fifth generation farmer. She farms corn, soybeans and alfalfa with her father and grandfather. Over the last year, she has expanded and updated the dairy side of the farm to include robotic milkers. She likes to keep her plate full and is currently running a business, remodeling a house, and planning a wedding -- all while trying to find time to workout and stay sane. Summer and 80 degree days are her happy place and winters are spent trying to stay thawed and looking like a snowman.
