So, what happens when you make your dreams a reality and you're not happy? What happens when you accomplish the goal you've been working towards all year, yet you feel empty?

It's like a rat stuck in a wheel. You're not actually going anywhere. You're so busy chasing these empty, meaningless things that you're unaware of where your own happiness and fulfillment is coming from.

Now, don't get me wrong. When you're busy hustling, it doesn't seem empty. And it does seem like it's exactly what you want. But why then do you end up feeling so empty and unfulfilled even when you finally "make it"?

Dream chasing is a beautiful way to spend your life. Making your dreams a reality is admirable. Lots of people may know your name. You may make a whole lot of money. But all of that is meaningless if you're not inherently fulfilled by it.

WHAT'S IN TODAY'S PODCAST:

I talk about dream-chasing and goal-setting. I talk about how we place these heavy expectations of our own happiness and fulfillment upon accomplishing these goals or making these dreams a reality. And inevitably, we end up feeling unfulfilled, discontent, and empty. I also share with you my own personal stories of empty dream-chasing and my go-to mentor for overcoming all of this.

I believe whole-heartedly that if a lady wants to curse, she damn well can.

I'm introducing something new today - "Bull Shit Boxes". And I'm sharing with you my own personal struggle with body image recently and how that affected me as a boss lady and entrepreneur. I'm talking about how we put ourselves in these boxes (bull shit boxes) that we let prevent us from being able to chase our dreams. We tell ourselves that we're not worthy of or capable of this great dream chasing because we're "not thin enough" or "don't have the right clothes" or "the Instagram-worthy desk". It's bull shit. And I'm getting real about my feelings on this topic with you in today's episode.

WHAT'S IN TODAY'S PODCAST:

I share my recent struggles with body image. And I explain a new concept - “bull shit boxes” - and talk about how they hold us back from chasing our big, beautiful dreams.

We set these expectations for ourselves, almost without even noticing. "I must get 30 likes on this photo, or I suck." "I have to find two new customers today, or I'm going to be a failure." "If I eat another donut, I'm a fatso who hasn't worked out in a week and needs to go on a diet." A lot of times, when we step back and examine the expectation we're wrestling with, the expectation makes NO sense at all.

Yet, we allow these expectations to limit our abilities, our actions, and our worth. These are self-limiting expectations. And they're dream haters. And big piles of manure.

WHAT'S IN TODAY'S PODCAST:

I talk about self-limiting expectations: what they are, my own personal struggle with them recently , and how we can overcome them.
